Prof. Ram Sarkar received his B. Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Calcutta, India in 2003. He received his M.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering and PhD (Engineering) degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India in 2005 and 2012 respectively. He joined the department of Computer Science and Engineering of Jadavpur University as an Assistant Professor in 2008, where he is now working as a full Professor. He received the Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship (USIEF) for post-doctoral research in University of Maryland, College Park, USA in 2014-15. He has published more than 400 research papers in various Journals and Conference Proceedings. His research areas include Image and Video Processing, Optimization Algorithms and Deep Learning. He is a senior member of the IEEE, and member of ACM.
