COMSYS-2022, the Third International Conference on Frontiers in Computing and Systems, was organized collaboratively by the Indian Institute of Technology-Ropar, Punjab, India, and COMSYS Educational Trust, Kolkata. The event took place from December 19 to 21, 2022, with the conference venue at IIT-Ropar. The conference attracted submissions from diverse educational institutes and research organizations both in India and abroad, encompassing a wide array of important and cutting-edge topics grouped into six tracks:

1. Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science

2. Devices, Circuits, and Systems

3. Computational Biology and Bioinformatics

4. Communication Networks, Cloud Computing, and Internet of Things

5. Image, Video, and Signal Processing

6. Security and Privacy

A total of 132 submissions were received, and after rigorous reviews and plagiarism checks, 50 papers were accepted for oral presentations, resulting in an acceptance rate of approximately 38%. Each manuscript underwent a meticulous review process, entailing a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 comprehensive evaluations per paper. The accepted papers were distributed across 8 technical sessions, offering a comprehensive exploration of the conference themes.

The COMSYS-2022 technical program featured three keynote lectures delivered by eminent scientists and academicians from Germany and India, along with three engaging tutorial sessions from experts in the UAE, UK, and India. The conference garnered significant global and national attention, with technical program committee members and reviewers from over 30 different countries participating voluntarily in the review process. Attendees from 7 countries outside India and 13 different states within India actively participated in the conference.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Ropar hosted COMSYS-2022 with the main objective of providing a platform for delegates from various fields to meet, discuss fresh ideas, share application experiences, and establish academic or research collaborations. The conference aimed to bring together researchers from academia and industry, fostering a healthy relationship between the two realms. The theme for COMSYS-2022 was “Cyber-physical Systems for Real-World Applications.”

The three-day conference program was meticulously designed to encourage mutual inspiration and fruitful debate among researchers. The first day featured tutorials providing in-depth insights into methods relevant to the conference theme. The second and third days included keynote lectures, invited talks, industry presentations, panel discussions, and technical sessions focused on the six identified tracks, showcasing the accepted papers by participants.
