COMSYS-2023, the fourth International Conference on Frontiers in Computing and Systems, was successfully organized by the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India. The event, held from October 16-17, 2023, was jointly organized by the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering (SCEE) and COMSYS Educational Trust, Kolkata, at Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi).
The conference welcomed submissions on various crucial and cutting-edge topics, categorized into five tracks: AI, ML and Data Science; Devices, Circuits and Systems; Computational Biology and Bioinformatics; Communication Networks, Security, Cloud Computing and IoT; and Image, Video, and Signal Processing. A total of 254 submissions were received from different educational institutes and research organizations in India and abroad.
Following rigorous reviews and plagiarism checks, 97 papers were accepted for oral presentations, resulting in an acceptance rate of approximately 38.18%. The accepted papers were presented across 16 technical sessions at IIT Mandi during the conference. Additionally, the COMSYS-2023 technical program featured four keynote lectures delivered by eminent scientists and academicians from Sweden, Poland, and India.
The conference attracted a substantial number of students and research scholars from India and abroad, with participants benefiting from the diverse technical sessions and engaging discussions. COMSYS-2023 garnered significant global and national attention, with technical program committee members and reviewers from over 30 different countries voluntarily participating in the technical program. Participants from 8 countries outside India and 20 different states within India actively attended the conference.
The conference received an impressive total of 254 submissions, from which 97 papers were accepted, reflecting the rigorous evaluation process wherein each paper underwent a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 reviews. The availability of reviews ensured transparency and quality control throughout the selection process, maintaining the conference’s commitment to scholarly excellence and fostering a conducive environment for the exchange of cutting-edge research and ideas.
The 4th International Conference on Frontiers in Computing and Systems, themed “Cyber-physical Systems for real-life applications,” effectively fulfilled its primary objective by showcasing the latest research and outcomes across diverse domains. The conference provided a platform for fruitful exchanges, establishing academic and research collaborations and fostering a healthy relationship between academia and industry.
