International Conference on Frontiers in Computing and Systems (COMSYS 2020)

COMSYS-2020, the inaugural International Conference on Frontiers in Computing and Systems, took place at Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College (JGEC), West Bengal, India, from January 13-15, 2020. The conference, organized by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, aimed to create an intellectually stimulating environment for scientists and researchers in the computing and systems domain.

The core objective of COMSYS-2020 was to provide a unique platform for global delegates to exchange novel ideas and establish research or business relations in diverse scientific fields, including machine learning, computational intelligence, VLSI, networks and systems, computational biology, and security.

The conference received an overwhelming response with 137 submissions from around the world. An esteemed international program committee conducted a double-blind review process, with each submission evaluated by at least two reviewers. After rigorous assessment, 86 papers were accepted. Plagiarism assessments were conducted employing sophisticated professional software tools, both at the time of submission and after acceptance during the preparation of the final camera-ready copy.

The proceedings of COMSYS-2020 were published by Springer in the prestigious series of Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing, showcasing the commitment to scholarly dissemination. The organizing committee extends heartfelt appreciation to Springer for providing this opportunity, anticipating that the published articles will prove invaluable to researchers in the realm of computing and systems.

The conference witnessed the participation of around 200 attendees, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. The conference received a total of 137 submissions, culminating in 83 accepted regular papers and 3 posters. All 83 regular papers underwent a comprehensive review process, with each paper evaluated by a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 reviews. The availability of reviews ensures transparency and quality in the selection process, contributing to the rigorous standards upheld by the conference.

The International Conference on Frontiers in Computing and Systems (COMSYS-2020) not only provided a platform for sharing the latest research and results but also contributed significantly to advancing knowledge in the cutting-edge scientific fields covered. The organizing committee extends a warm invitation to enthusiasts worldwide to participate in future editions of COMSYS conferences.
